UK Government - Feed-In Tariff scheme

Aardvark has completed a study on the gas yields and returns from electricity generation under the new Feed-In Tariff scheme for 30 differing feedstocks.

The study notes that for cattle slurry the expected revenue per tonne from electricity sales is £6.87 whereas for food waste this increases to £40.57 and for grain this could be as high as £160.65 per tonne.

Mark Clayton who headed the study said "growing crops for AD looks to be sensible in economic terms and will increase in viability in the future, why build big plants to handle low yielding feedstocks when smaller embedded schemes could be an enviro-economic solution”.
