Position: Town Planner / Renewable Energy
Role: Aardvark is looking for a Town Planner to join our successful renewable energy and waste management planning team. The role will initially be based in Gloucestershire. The role, which will be supported by the planning team in the company's head office therefore requires someone that can maintain the highest standards of client care as well as the ability to deliver high quality work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing several complex renewable energy planning projects at the same time providing input into a multi-disciplinary team and project managing external sub-contractors and specialised consultants.
Duties will include site appraisals, public consultation, project management, preparation, submission and monitoring of planning applications for renewable energy and waste management/recovery development, Project management of EIA and preparation of ES.
The role may also require project management of an appeal caseload including written representations, informal hearing and public inquiry submissions as well as negotiating section 106 legal agreements.
Skills/Experience: Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have a minimum of 3-years? relevant experience and ideally be a Chartered Member of the RTPI or in the process of attaining accreditation to a relevant certified body.
The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, committed and motivated with an ability to solve problems independently and collectively, have a desire to learn and expand professional knowledge and an ability to work to deadlines and within budgets
You will have good verbal and written communication skills, commercial awareness and project management skills in line with your experience and be flexible and adaptable in your approach. Previous experience in private practice and in renewable energy work is also preferred.
