Steer Point Quarry Restoration – Successful application for a waste recovery environmental permit to facilitate the restoration of a former quarry associated with a brickworks in Devon, and ongoing role in advising the operators on environmental compliance and reporting

PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT
Jon is a post-graduate of Sustainable Environmental Management, and a graduate in Geography from the University of Plymouth. He joined Aardvark as a graduate in 2010 and now heads up Aardvark’s Environmental Permitting team. He has experience in the preparation of environmental permitting applications for a diverse range of activities, including anaerobic digestion, energy from waste, composting, medium combustion plant, waste transfer and treatment operations and waste recovery for construction and land restoration projects.
Jon also leads on environmental permitting compliance advice and resolution of issues with the UK environmental regulatory bodies. This role includes advising on incoming regulatory and policy changes, and responding to government consultations on proposed new permitting requirements on behalf of industry operators.
In addition to the work in environmental permitting, Jon also leads Aardvark’s work on nutrient neutrality projects, including the preparation of Nutrient Neutrality Assessment and Mitigation Strategy reports in support of residential planning applications, and he also holds the role of operation and maintenance manager at the Norton Fitzwarren flood defence scheme.
Prior to working for Aardvark EM Ltd, Jon worked at the Environment Agency as a Technical Assistant with the Groundwater and Contaminated Land Team.
